Decadent display

One of my good friends got married last summer, and she did something at her reception that I had never seen before: a dessert buffet. Once dinner was over, an array of yummy desserts was brought out, including fondue. There were several different kinds of cut-up fruit to dip in the warm chocolate as well as little Rice Krispie treats. Liqueurs and coffee and tea complemented the desserts.
Dessert buffets are becoming popular, whether you want to serve it in addition to your wedding cake or in place of it. Your imagination is the limit; I found some great ideas online: cookies and milk, family recipes, chocolate only, or breakfast foods (especially if your party goes into the wee hours of the morning).
And, if you’re looking to save money, a dessert-only reception might be the way to go!
